    DSS Appoints Peter Nnochirionye Afunanya as Head of New Directorate

    The Department of State Services (DSS) has announced the appointment of Peter Nnochirionye Afunanya as the Supervising Director of the newly established Directorate of Public Relations and Strategic Communications (DPRSC), effective from September 26, 2023.

    This appointment reflects the DSS’s commitment to enhancing its engagement with the public and promoting democratic governance, transparency, and accountability.

    The announcement was made through a public statement released by the Directorate of Public Relations and Strategic Communications of the DSS at its National Headquarters in Abuja on September 27, 2023. In addition to overseeing the newly established Directorate, Afunanya will also be responsible for managing the service’s public communications.

    The DSS expressed its appreciation to the Director General of the DSS, Alhaji Yusuf Magaji Bichi CFR, fwc, for taking the initiative to expand and appoint Afunanya to lead the Directorate.

    This move highlights the agency’s commitment to fostering open communication with the public and improving its outreach efforts to ensure transparency and democratic governance.
