    Don’t stop learning after your graduation,Rector advises graduands

    The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Idah,Dr Danjuma David Baba has advised graduating students of the Institution not to stop learning after leaving the polytechnic.

    The Rector in an address delivered at the 25th combined convocation and 45th anniversary of the Institution on Saturday said, passing out of the polytechnic was just a step in aquiring more knowledge to attain greater heights.

    ” While your school year may end,there is always more opportunities to learn about grow. Aproach the future with an open mind and be willing to learn from those you encounter on your life journey” the Rector added .

    He also encouraged the remaining students to be of good behavior and remember that every person they meet on campus has something to offer.

    “Classmates, lecturers, advisors,etc, naturally you will not become friends with everybody,but I recommend networking with as many people as possible adding that where there is misunderstanding, remember dialogue is better than confrontation”.

    While congratulating the graduands,the Rector urged them to make the most of the knowledge gained from the Institution to better the nation and repre,sent the Institution positively wherever the may found themselves.

    The member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, James Abiodun Faleke was among notable Nigerians that was honoured at the 25th convocation of the Federal Polytechnic, Idah on Saturday.

    Others are: Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka, Kingsley Idoko Ilona and Ambassador Mrs Regina Ocheni.

    They were all awarded the Polytechnic s Fellowship in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the socio-econimic, political growth and peaceful co- existence of the nation.

    Speaking at the ceremony which also marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of the institution,the Rector, Dr Danjuma David Baba said the award was the Institutions of recognising their modest contribution with the hope that the award would spur to do more.

    Earlier, the Institution had conferred OND,HND and certificates on no fewer than 10,000 students in various disciplines.
