Defection: Governors don’t make a party – Bode George

Former Deputy National Chairman (South) of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bode George, has said governors alone do not make a party.

George made the statement on Tuesday while responding to questions during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

He stated that governors are only an added value to a party, stressing that it is the people who truly make up the party.

The PDP chieftain was reacting to the defection of Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

“Governors alone don’t make the party, they are an added value. The people make up your party. We will campaign. We will go to the field and explain to the people. What has the APC done to put a smile on the faces of Nigerians? What are the economic indices

“It’s not the matter of being in the government and they think they can manoeuvre and manipulate results for them to win elections,” he said.
