The Chancellor of BAZE University Abuja Dr Datti Baba – Ahmed has promised academic community that he was ready to float a N25million research fund to boost reseach into cultural calender among various communities across the country.
Baba-Ahmed announced this yesterday during the 7th Inaugural Lecture of the University delivered by its vice Chancellor Professor Abiodun Adeniyi,
The Chancellor,’s action was instigated by the remarks of His Royal Highness Obaro of Kabba, Dr Solomon Dele Owoniyi who told the gathering that the month of June marked the begining of new year in his Kingdom, stressing that the inaugural lecture fall with its new year calendar,
Arising from this revelation, Baba-Ahmed challenged academic community and researcher to take up this challenge and research into community cultural calender in the country
” i am ready to sponsor research into cultural calender with N25 million ” the Chancellor stated.
He expressed his desire for academic excellence and promise that he will do his best to pursue academic excelent in the country.
Obaro has sought collaboration with the Chancellor to advance knowledge and academic institutions pointing out that Kogi state will soon launch its airport and that the Chancellor is planning aviation college in the country adding that his kingdom is willing to collaborate with Baba-Ahmed by providing free land for such venture.
His Royal Highness promised that free land will be given to the Chancellor for his aviation college.
Professor Adeniyi in his lecture titled ” How Your Village Is Following You:Mobility ,Memory,and the Mediated Persistence of Belonging ” touched on technology and Physics of Moving, Physical Friction in mobility, among other factors in addressing the lecture in a holistical manner.
