A pro-democracy group has commended the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu over the recent signing of the N3.366 trillion Appropriation Bill for 2025 into law.

Governor Sanwo-Olu had last Thursday gave his assent to the Appropriation Bill, tagged the “Budget of Sustainability,” at the State House, Alausa, Ikeja.

Reacting to the development during a press conference, the Pan African Society for Social and Economic Change, PASSEC through its Executive Director, Basah Mohammed praised the Lagos State governor for remaining on track in his efforts to develop the state.

Mohammed disclosed that the group has carefully looked at the Lagos 2025 budget and can attest that it is truly designed to address infrastructure, economic diversification, and other critical sectors in the state. Adding that the Lagos state budget for 2025 will consolidate the massive achievement of Governor Sanwo-Olu in the past five years.

His words: “Having carefully studied the 2025 budget recently signed into law by our hardworking Governor Sanwo-Olu, we are happy and in high spirits because of what that budget will achieve for us as a state.

“We’ve also seen that the title which is The “Budget of Sustainability” is truly aimed at addressing infrastructure, economic diversification, and other critical sectors in Lagos state.

“No doubt the budget is an audacious project, it’s also a budget of reality because of the governor’s capacity to deliver. This will be the largest budget that we’ll see in the history of the Federal Government. It’s not even just the largest, the leapfrog of that size of budget, however, we are certain Governor Sanwo-Olu will deliver this budget to the latter.

“So it’s a real budget of reassurance, it’s very audacious, but in our view, we believe it is achievable with Sanwo-Olu as the governor; we are also aware that the governor has a track record of setting up proper machinery to deliver his projects and this year won’t be an exception.

“Lagos state is blessed to have a leader like Governor Sanwo-Olu and at this material point we all owe it as a duty to continue supporting his administration to take Nigeria’s commercial capital to greater heights,” Mohammed stated.
