Security agencies in the country have been urged to intensify the fight against banditry, kidnapping and terrorism across the country especially during this yule tide period

Making the appeal at this year’s Carol Service of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, Muritala Mohammed Way, Ilorin, the Kwara state capital, the Chairman of the Church Youths Development Committee, Special Apostle Michael Afolayan, said the call becomes imperative in view of pockets of unending banditry, kidnapping and ritual killings in the country.

He also urged the federal government to ensure adequate welfare and modern fighting tools for the security agents so as to motivate them to be more committed to the arduous task.

To stem insecurity in the country, Special Apostle Afolayan stressed the need for the three tiers of government to create employment opportunities for the teeming youths, saying an idle hand is the devil’s workshop.

In his message, the Leader-In-Charge of the District Headquarters of the Church, Most Snr. Special Apostle Dr. J. O. Daniel, said the season of Christmas when Jesus Christ was born is a call to higher ground, urging Christians to continue to live a life of holiness and purity in the heart.

He said: “Jesus Christ I’d the Day and also the Light from the beginning and by Him we have our being and in Him dwells the Light called Light and anything outside Him is darkness.

“He is the Light of our salvation, the Bright Morning Star, there is no dawn without Him for He is the Day and the day will never be bright if He the Light is not in it. He’s the beauty and glory of the universe.”

In his sermon, Pastor John Ebun has called on Christians to let their light shine towards proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ to the entire World, adding that God expected the people to worship Him wholeheartedly in spirit and in soul.

Pastor Ebun who spoke on the theme “the bright morning star”, prayed for a new beginning and new dawn for the people and the Nation, saying the star signifies the beginning of an era, time and event.

He called on Christians to be prepared for the second coming of Jesus Christ who brought salvation to mankind to end darkness in all ramifications, urging the people to embrace peace and let the birth of Jesus Christ be meaningful in their lives
