Chima Udoye has emerged as the winner of the 2024 Nigerian Idol, claiming the title at the finale of the reality music show’s ninth edition on Sunday night. He triumphed over his close rivals, Chioma and Lammy, to secure the top spot.

As the champion, Udoye will receive a grand prize package that includes N30 million, a brand-new SUV, a record deal, and a video shoot. The finale was highlighted by guest performances from Simi, Chike, and past Nigerian Idol winners like Progress and Victory Gbakara. Additionally, judge Omawumi performed a thank-you song with the evicted contestants.

Nigerian Idol is the Nigerian adaptation of the global Idol series franchise. The 2024 season, hosted by IK Osakioduwa, premiered in April and featured judges Alexander Abolore Adegbola Akande (also known as 9ice), Omawumi, and Ric Hassani. This year’s edition, themed ‘Dare to Dream,’ aired live for eight weeks, from April 21 to July 14.
