Malfunctioning of BVAS slowed down voting at some of the polling units located at Kurudu primary school at the Saturday’s polls.

Voting had started at about 9Am shortly after the arrival of Independent National Electoral Commission,( INEC) officials.

The situation which had created so much anxiety among voters in the area, had been attributed to sabotage by party agents in collaboration with INEC officials to deny some presidential candidates votes from the area.

However, the insinuation was debunked by an adhoc lNEC staff who attributed the malfunctioning of the machine to technical fault.

Meawhile, the situation was brought under control an hour later when the BVAS were fixed by the commission’s technical official and voting continued.

Kurudu primary school houses about 10 polling units.

The crowd queuing to cast their votes to their preferred candidates for the post of president, senator and House of Representative numbered up 1000 as at the time filling this report.

Unlike other election years in this part of FCT, there is orderliness, no carry or snatching of ballot boxes etc during this year’s exercise.

The voters conducted themselves well and we’re ready to conclude the exercise before leaving the venue.

Similarly, at the polling unit opposite Christ the King Catholic, church ( CKC) Kurudu malfunctioning of BVAS delayed voting for hours.

As at 12 noon voting had not started though INEC official at the unit assured our reporter that he was hopeful that voting would commence as soon as the BAVS were repaired.

Meanwhile voters were there waiting patiently to perform their civic right.
