    Benue Assembly lifts suspension on seven members

    The Benue State House of Assembly, on Tuesday recalled seven members suspended in February 2025.

    They are, Hon. Douglas Akya (Makurdi South) Hon. Mrs Becky Orpin ( Gboko East) Hon. Manger Manger ( Tarka) Hon. Ezrah Nyiyongu ( Ukum) Jonathan Agbidye (Katsina Ala East)  and Samuel Agada and Hon. Abraham Jabi.

    Recall that six out of the thirteen members suspended in February this year were recalled last month remaining seven.

    ‎The seven legislators showed remorse, pleaded to be recalled, promising to be of good conduct.

    During the consideration of the letter read by the Majority Leader Comr. Saater Tiseer, Members including Hon. Bemdoo Ipusu, and Hon. Elias Audu supported the motion for their recall, especially since they had pledged to be of good conduct.

    The members also commended the Honourable Speaker Rt. Hon. Hyacinth Aondona Dajoh and the house leadership for handling the matter with magnanimity.
