‎Be ambassadors of hope, not division, Akpabio charges PBAT Movement

‎Senate President Godswill Akpabio has urged members of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT) Door-to-Door Movement to see themselves as ambassadors of hope and national unity, not agents of division, as the country prepares for the 2027 general elections.

‎Akpabio gave the charge on Thursday in Abuja during the inauguration of the movement’s National Executive and the commissioning of campaign vehicles for nationwide mobilisation to secure votes for President Bola Tinubu’s reelection.

‎“A movement that goes from door to door must do more than seek support. It must carry truth, inspire confidence, listen to the people, and return to those same doors with the dividends of good governance. That is how democracies endure,” he said.

‎In a statement by his Special Assistant on Media/Communication, Anietie Ekong, the Senate President told the newly inaugurated executives that their core assignment goes beyond politics.

‎“Your greatest assignment is not merely to mobilise support but to inspire hope, promote national unity and encourage constructive engagement,” Akpabio said.

‎“Politics should never divide us beyond repair. Elections may produce winners and losers, but Nigeria must always emerge the ultimate winner,” he added.

‎The Senate President reminded the group that the nation is greater than any political party, office holder or election, and urged them to act in ways that future generations will remember with gratitude.

‎“As you are inaugurated today, remember that you are ambassadors not merely of a political movement but of democratic engagement. Knock on every door with respect. Listen before you persuade. Unite before you mobilise,” he charged.

‎Akpabio said when politics is driven by patriotism and service, “every door opened becomes another gateway to national renewal. And every door leads to a renewed hope for a greater Nigeria.”

‎Founder of the movement, businessman Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, said the initiative is aimed at deepening grassroots mobilisation and civic participation.

‎Tompolo noted that the Tinubu administration’s reforms are yielding results in foreign investment, capital market growth, and fiscal autonomy for states.

‎He described the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement as a nationwide platform to promote national development and support the Renewed Hope Agenda.
