BBNaija Uriel Oputa Opens Up on Challenges of Caring for Ailing Mother

    Published on

Reality TV star Uriel Oputa has opened up about the emotional and physical challenges she faces in caring for her ailing mother. In a candid post shared via her Instagram story, Uriel expressed how her mother’s health condition has left her feeling unproductive due to the constant attention required.

Her mother’s battle with vascular dementia, which could have been prevented if she had taken her high blood pressure medication, has been a source of deep reflection for Uriel. She wrote, “These last few days have been incredibly hard. Yesterday, I fed my mother breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which meant I couldn’t get to anything else. It left me feeling unproductive, but it reminded me of one of the biggest things I’ve overcome: forgiveness.”

Uriel spoke about the importance of forgiveness, sharing that she had to forgive her mother for not adhering to her medical treatment and for the consequences it had on her health. She also forgave herself for the anger she had carried over the years, realizing that letting go of that anger was a crucial part of her healing.

This experience has fueled Uriel’s advocacy for health awareness and prevention. She passionately stated, “I want to make sure others don’t go through what I’m going through now. Because it’s fucking hard. I just want the old times.”

Through her post, Uriel underscores the significance of taking care of one’s health and the emotional toll caregiving can take, while also emphasizing the power of forgiveness in the healing process.
