Nigerian filmmaker Dabby Chimere has unveiled the star-studded cast for her forthcoming film Adanne. The lineup includes popular figures from the entertainment industry, such as Big Brother Naija’s Tacha Akinde (Simply Tacha), Nollywood actors Ik Ogbonna, Alex Ekubo, and Shaffy Bello, with Lilian Afegbai taking the lead role.

The film explores the complex dynamics of family relationships, focusing on two sisters, Adanne and Ijeoma. After Adanne makes significant sacrifices to support Ijeoma’s ambitions, Ijeoma abandons her upon marrying a wealthy man. Left with no other options, Adanne turns to stripping to survive.

Chimere, known for her previous work on Head Over Bills, describes Adanne as a gripping narrative of familial love, betrayal, and loyalty. She shared her excitement about the project on Instagram, highlighting the emotional depth of the story and expressing her gratitude to the cast and crew for their contributions.

“I’m thrilled to bring this compelling story of sisterhood and resilience to life,” Chimere stated. “A huge thank you to the talented cast and crew for believing in this vision. I’m excited to see how the audience will respond to this emotional journey.”

Chimere’s earlier films, including Rush Hour and Head Over Bills, have received significant acclaim, with both titles featured on Prime Video’s Top 10 Movies in Nigeria. Adanne promises to add to her growing list of impactful works.
