The Bayelsa State Government has reinforced its commitment to youth-focused institutions through a recent courtesy visit by a prominent political aide to the leadership of the CYMS.
Obinna Nwaka, the Director General of CYMS, welcomed David Alfred, the Special Assistant on General Duties to the Bayelsa State Governor, at the organization’s office.
During the visit, Hon. Alfred praised CYMS for its unwavering dedication to youth engagement and its proactive role in promoting the policies and initiatives of the Federal Government. He highlighted the organization’s grassroots initiatives that provide meaningful opportunities for young people to engage in governance and contribute to national development.
Hon. Alfred also shared details about an upcoming Leadership Programme set to take place at the Banquet Hall of the Bayelsa State Government House. This program aims to equip emerging leaders with essential skills and knowledge for effective public service.
In response, Chief Nwaka expressed gratitude for the visit and the acknowledgment of CYMS’ contributions. He deemed the proposed leadership programme timely, especially given the current socio-political climate, and assured Hon. Alfred of his support and participation.
This meeting reflects the ongoing collaboration between youth development stakeholders and government representatives, with a focus on fostering leadership, civic responsibility, and inclusive governance.
