Barr. George Turnah, Acting Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa on Thursday applauded the smooth conduct of Ward Congress across 105 wards in the state.
He noted that reports at his disposal indicate that the exercise went smoothly across Bayelsa.
Turnah commended party faithfuls for their maturity, unity and commitment to democratic ideals.
He noted that the peaceful conduct of the congress reflects the strength and internal cohesion of the party at the grassroots level, advising the leaders to guide themselves with the party constitution.
Turner appreciated the Minister of FCT, Chief Nyeson Wike for his supportive role in advancing PDP at all level, thanked National Officers for monitoring the exercise to ensure an hitch free process.
He spoke after monitoring the exercise at Kolo Ward 9 in Ogbia Local Government of Bayelsa.
The new executives that emerged at Kolo Ward 9 are Hon. Progress Ederi, as Ward Chairman, Hon. Samuel Ogbe as Deputy Chairman, while Mr ThankGod Odo as the Secretary, Abali Arumobhel as Assistant Secretary and Awodumapu Amakupo, as Treasurer.
Others are Financial Secretary Mr Iseke Enighonobig, Organizing Secretary- Noble Afebo, Publicity Secretary- Amos Afere, Women Leader-Dabibi Ekima, Youths Leader -Onimite Gimemazulu, Legal Adviser- Edom Enator while Nanighe Omiekuma will serve as Auditor.
Also Ex Officio 1, Glory Benjamin, Ex Officio 2 – Confidence Dokuru, Ex Office 3 – Goodluck Edre, Ex Officio 4- Ninara John and Ex Officio 5- Egba Anighemi.
Responding on behalf of the executive, the Ward Chairman, Mr Progress Ederi lauded party leaders both at national and state level for their solidarity, promising to justify the confidence reposed on them.
