The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Youth Assembly has officially endorsed Sly Ezeokenwa for the position of national chairman of the party. The endorsement was announced in a statement released on Tuesday by Eze-Onyebuchi Chukwu, the national leader of the group, in Abuja.

The youth group emphasized the importance of electing a capable leader and cautioned against choosing “desperate politicians” for the crucial role of national chairman.

“APGA has never been a youth-centric party until Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo took office and entrusted the youths with significant responsibilities,” Chukwu stated. “For the first time in Nigerian political history, someone under 40 has been given the chance to lead a major national political party as its national chairman.”

The group highlighted this development as a significant victory for Nigerian youths, who have historically been sidelined from leadership roles in the country.

“It is crucial for the party and its youths not to squander this opportunity to be led by a visionary youth,” Chukwu added. “We fully support Sly Ezeokenwa, a leader dedicated to transforming APGA into a youth-oriented political party. We do not recognize Edozie Njoku, another contender for the position.”

The APGA Youth Assembly’s endorsement of Ezeokenwa marks a pivotal moment for the party, as it seeks to bolster youth involvement and leadership within its ranks.
