The APC Youth Crusaders For Peace and Development (AYCPD) have voiced their disapproval of Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf’s recent decision to sign a bill abolishing the state’s five emirates. They perceive this move as a part of a broader plot to discredit President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Expressing concerns over what they view as a calculated attempt to destabilize the political landscape, the National Coordinator, Hon. Cyril Adamu, referenced previous warnings regarding Governor Yusuf and influential figures allegedly aiming to undermine the stability of Kano and Nigeria.

The bill in question, ‘The Kano State Emirates Councils (Repeal) Bill, 2024,’ dissolved the additional emirates established in the state, paving the way for the reinstatement of Muhammadu Sanusi II, who was dethroned four years earlier by former governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

The AYCPD condemned the governor’s actions, asserting that they are driven by political motives aimed at disrupting President Tinubu’s administration. They warned of potential unrest and instability in the state and the nation as a whole, urging intervention from Northern elders to prevent further escalation.

The statement by the APC Youth Crusaders criticized Governor Yusuf for prioritizing personal vendettas over governance and emphasized the need for unity and stability in Kano. They called for an end to political maneuvers that could plunge the state into chaos and urged leaders to focus on delivering good governance to the people.

In conclusion, they stressed the importance of safeguarding the democratic process and maintaining peace and stability in Kano, highlighting the significant role the state plays in the region’s economic and political landscape.
