    APC Guber Candidate Hails Yusuf’s Defection as Stability Boost

    The 2023 governorship candidate for the All Progressives Congress, Murtala Garo has commended Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State over his recent defection from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

    Garo, a former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in the state said the governor’s defection can be described as a step towards political stability.

    In a statement issued on Tuesday, Garo noted that Yusuf’s decision to dump the NNPP for APC will deliver sustainable development in Kano State.

    He also appreciated the governor for showcasing a high level of political maturity and foresight which he said Kano State and Nigeria needed the most.

    According to Garo, the governor’s action is capable of fostering the unity needed to deliver the dividends of inclusive governance to the people of Kano State.

    “I formally welcome His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, into the All Progressives Congress.

    “This is a significant and commendable step in our collective quest for political stability, inclusive governance and sustainable development in Kano State.

    “By this decisive action, His Excellency has demonstrated the capacity to rise above partisan divides in the interest of peace, progress and unity,” Garo said.

    The former gubernatorial candidate said Yusuf’s alignment with the power at the centre proves that he clearly understands the political and economic realities confronting Kano State and the country at large.

    In addition, Garo expressed confidence that the governor’s defection will helonin strengthening APC’s reform agenda and build a strong bond between the state and the Federal Government.
