In preparation for the upcoming primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Vetting Committee of the party has given clearance to all gubernatorial aspirants.

Chaired by Prof Abdulkarim Kana, the committee’s screening took place ahead of the main screening scheduled for Thursday.

A key development emerged as the committee dismissed allegations of certificate forgery against Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, made by one of the aspirants, Mr. Gbenga Edema. The committee confirmed the authenticity of Aiyedatiwa’s academic certificate submitted to the party.

The list of aspirants who purchased and submitted forms includes Adewale Akinterinwa, Isaacs Kekemeke, Francis Faduyile, Oladiran Iyantan, Ifeoluwa Oyedele, Jimoh Ibrahim, and Odimayo Okunjimi, among others.

According to a report obtained by our correspondent, the committee recommended the clearance of all aspirants for participation in the screening exercises, affirming the integrity and transparency of the vetting process.

The committee’s actions align with the party’s commitment to internal democracy and good governance, ensuring that only qualified and credible aspirants participate in the primaries.

In response to allegations of certificate forgery, Governor Aiyedatiwa’s legal representative, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa (SAN), refuted the claims, confirming the authenticity of Aiyedatiwa’s West African School Certificate Examination results. Adegboruwa demanded a public apology and retraction of the false publications, along with compensation for the damage caused by the allegations.
