The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced Hon. Dennis Idahosa as its deputy governorship candidate for the upcoming September 21 Edo governorship election.
Idahosa will run alongside APC’s gubernatorial candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, in the state election.
Previously contending for the APC ticket during the party primaries, Idahosa ultimately lost to Okpebholo, who secured the party’s flag bearer position for the November 21, 2024 election.
In a gathering held on Sunday night, Idahosa’s selection was officially revealed in the presence of APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, former Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, Senator Okpebholo himself, and other prominent party members.
Ganduje, accompanied by the party’s National Secretary, Sen. Ajibola Bashiru, is expected to introduce Okpebholo and Idahosa to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the villa today.
Idahosa’s appointment replaces Hon. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, who was previously named as the running mate by the governorship candidate last week.
