Edo Assembly Speaker and Member Representing Owan West Constituency, Hon Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku, has debunked the alleged kidnapping of school children in Owan West Constituency.
Agbebaku, while speaking with newsmen in his office, described the information as baseless, senseless, and an act of sabotage, maintaining that he visits his hometown every weekend.
He disclosed that he returned on Wednesday and was shocked to see the viral video. On investigation, he discovered that there was no iota of truth as no one or any such incident took place.
He stated that the rumour is from the pit of hell and the handiwork of people who do not want peace and progress of the state in general and Owan West Constituency in particular.
The Speaker thanked Governor Okpebholo for his tireless efforts in ensuring the security of the people of the state with the provision of various security gadgets that have empowered security agencies in the state.
He called on all indigenes and residents of Owan West Constituency, including Hausas, Igbos, Yoruba, Urhobos and other tribes, to remain calm and go about their lawful businesses and activities.
The Assembly Boss stated that the Council boss, Hon Joy Ohonyon, and other security personnel are patrolling the area to ensure peace and security, stating that the person responsible for the viral video of the alleged kidnapping has been arrested.
