    ALL BECAUSE OF PETER OBI

    Published on

How many perceptive commentators realize that all the recent Shenanigans by both the National Assembly and INEC over party membership register and  obstacles to movement to another party before elections, were aimed and targeted at ONE MAN – Peter Gregory Obi?
Cast your mind back to the closing days of 2022 and the presidential election of 2023.
Then take a casual, not even a close look at the major stipulations of the electoral law amendment bill now before the National Assembly as well as the precious time and energy expended by INEC over party membership and party registers.

Every line is reeking Peter Obi, Peter Obi, Peter Obi!.
Who else but Peter Obi quietly walked out from his PDP just before the party’s primaries in 2022 and soon surfaced at the Labour Party which gave him the presidential ticket?
Until then, who knew about the Labour Party as a serious contender for the presidency?
Peter Obi promptly embarked on his campaign trail and, to the consternation of political watchers, began to resonate with the young, the old, and especially the previously uncommitted elites from all the cardinal points of the geography of the country.
Peter Obi soon became a phenomenon.

He attracted the young generation as magnet draws iron filings. Soon the  “OBIDIENT” Movement emerged and the political landscape and skyscape changed irreversibly.
The ruling party, APC, in power under President Buhari from 2015 till 2023 when Bola Ahmed Tinubu picked up the ticket, saw the hand writing on the wall and became panicky.
And, predictably, the hounds and attack dogs were let loose howling, barking, with teeth and fangs unsheathed against Peter Obi.

They tried to pin ethnic badge on him as if their leader came from nowhere. They moved over to religion but their principal has a religion he’s associated with.
Seeing that all the efforts to smurge or dent Peter Obi’s escalating national profile, they fell back on what the overwhelmed security personnel would call “non-kinetic tactic” The shameless elements in the judiciary.

Not to forget the conman sorry specimen of Professors in the INEC.
February 2023 elections came and all masks were removed.
In spite of the evidence before the nation and the internet community, votes were brazenly allocated.
Peter Obi was gratuitously handed six million and cautiously place Third.
    The rest is now history.

And to prevent another PETER OBI SCARE in future, strange electoral and legislative gymnastics were embarked upon for INEC now to be co-membership secretary of political parties and belonging to two or more political parties has become criminalized.
    All because of Peter Obi.
