Governor of Benue State, Fr Hyacinth Alia, has debunked claims of sighting projects in specific areas, and depriving Benue South Senatorial District in the state.

In an interactive session with journalists in Makurdi, Alia, who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, described the claims as lies from the pit of hell.

Kula, who said that the accusation was aimed to generate bad blood, maintained that his administration has delivered projects across the state.

“All the three senatorial districts benefited immensely under the current leadership in the state,” Kula stated.

He said that Alia’s development strides witnessed several ongoing roads constructions across the state, including the Nyihemba to Unongo villages in Kwande LGA, Adikpo-Koti.

He noted that about 390 kilometers of road are under construction, with 25 township roads in Makurdi already completed.

Alia appealed to the people of Benue South Senatorial District to be patient, saying work on the Otukpo underpass project, initiated by his administration, would commence soon.

He also listed other development projects in the axis, including the renovation of schools and the fixing of Otobi water works.

The Governor expressed optimism that his administration would meet the yearnings and aspirations of the people in his second tenure, citing the progress made so far in just two years.

He promised that his administration plans to sink boreholes to provide water to every community, adding that, “water is life.”

According to him, all hands must be on deck to ensure healthcare facilities delivery that comprise the 23 LGAs in the state.

“We have already earmarked plans to spread development in every nook and cranny of the state,” he added.
