Senator John Owan Enoh, Minister of Sports Development, has issued a rallying cry to private individuals and Corporate Nigeria to throw their support behind the Super Eagles as they aim for their fourth continental triumph in the AFCON final on Sunday in Abidjan.

Nigeria, a three-time AFCON champion, seeks to add another title to its resume after victories in 1980, 1994, and 2013. Having reached the final on numerous occasions, including in 1984, 1988, and 2013, the Super Eagles are set to face Ivory Coast in the upcoming final on February 11, 2024.

In a personal appeal titled “Stand Up To Be Counted: A Clarion Call To Private Individuals and Corporate Nigeria To Support the Super Eagles To Lift the Africa Cup of Nations Trophy,” Senator Enoh highlighted the team’s remarkable performance, which has uplifted the nation and fostered unity among Nigerians.

He emphasized the resilience and unwavering spirit displayed by the team in Ivory Coast, attributing their success to the collective effort of the players.

As the tournament reaches its climax, Senator Enoh underscored the need for sustained support from all quarters, especially in light of financial constraints faced by the sports sector. He commended the unwavering backing of the administration of President Bola Tinubu, urging private individuals and corporate entities to join hands in backing the Super Eagles.

Recognizing the historic opportunity at hand, Senator Enoh called upon all sports enthusiasts to contribute, both individually and collectively, towards the team’s success. He concluded with a resounding call to action: “Together, ‘Let’s Do It Again’ for the love of country.”
