    Court declines extradiction of Kyari to US

    A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja today dismissed the extradiction application brought before it by the Federal Government seeking permission of the Court to extradict DSP Abba Kyari to the United States of América (USA).Justice Inyang Ekwo in his ruling described the extradiction request as ” an abuse of Court process ” On the ground that Kyari was already standing a criminal trial before another Court in Nigeria.According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports the US, the Federal Government, through the office of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) had filed the extradiction suit praying the Court to grant the plea for DSP Kyari to face a criminal charges levelled against him by the US Government. The US authorities had applied to the Nigerian government for Kyari’s extradiction in relation to his alleged involvement with suspected international fraudstar Raman Abbas also known as Hushpuppi.Agency reports also revealed that suspended DSP Kyari is also facing a criminal trial on allegations of drug deal filed against him and others by the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency(NDLEA) .The US Attorney’s office for Central District of California, Los Angeles had recently confirmed that Huspuppi would be sentenced on September 21.
