From Adamu Abubakar, Gombe
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, on Tuesday, presented the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination forms to the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates for the 24 seats in the Gombe State House of Assembly, urging party members to close ranks and intensify mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The governor also handed over INEC acknowledgement slips to the party’s senatorial and House of Representatives candidates who had earlier completed and submitted their nomination forms.
The presentation, held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Gombe, marked the completion of the party’s nomination process for all its candidates seeking elective offices in the state.
Addressing party stakeholders, Inuwa Yahaya congratulated the candidates on their emergence, describing the APC primary elections as peaceful, transparent and credible.
He said the successful completion of the nomination process signified the party’s readiness to begin full-scale campaigns for the 2027 elections.
He called on party members to remain united and embark on aggressive grassroots mobilisation to secure victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC governorship candidate in Gombe State, Dr Jamilu Isiyaku Gwamna, as well as all the party’s candidates.
The governor said the APC would campaign on its record of achievements, maintaining that both the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda and his administration’s development projects across Gombe State had provided the party with a strong platform to seek another mandate from the electorate.
”We have fulfilled our campaign promises, and our achievements should be the foundation upon which we seek the people’s renewed confidence,” the governor said.
Speaking on behalf of the National Assembly candidates, the Chief Whip of the House of Representatives and APC candidate for Akko Federal Constituency, Hon. Usman Bello Kumo, commended Governor Inuwa Yahaya for providing leadership that ensured the successful conduct of the party’s primary elections.
He expressed optimism that the APC would record another resounding victory in the 2027 general elections.
Also speaking, the Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Hon. Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewo, pledged the commitment of the assembly candidates to work closely with the party leadership to strengthen grassroots support across their constituencies.
Earlier, the APC Chairman in Gombe State, Hon. Mohammed Dantata Ndus, congratulated all the candidates on their emergence and urged party members to remain united and focused on delivering victory for the APC in the forthcoming general elections.
