‎Benue State Governor, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia, has condemned the attack on Saai community in Mbajir Ward, Katsina-Ala Local Government Area which reportedly left scores dead, describing it as a senseless assault on innocent citizens.

‎The Governor extended his deepest condolences to the bereaved families and victims receiving treatment, stressing that his heart goes out to those who lost their loved ones as well as other victims currently receiving medical attention.

‎He, on behalf of government and people of the state, pray for their swift and total recovery, assuring that his administration would always stand in solidarity with the entire Saai community during this period of immense grief.

‎Reassuring residents of the area, the governor urged the people of Katsina-Ala and Benue State not to be discouraged, assuring that his administration remains unwavering in its commitment to protecting lives and livelihoods.

‎The governor, who said the government will not allow the forces of darkness to drive people away from their lands or dampen their spirits, directed security agencies to deploy additional personnel to Saai and surrounding communities to prevent further incursions by terrorists and armed herdsmen.

‎He equally ordered security personnel to launch a manhunt for the perpetrators to ensure they face the full wrath of the law, as well as ensure the safety of farmers as they tend to their crops to guaranteeing no further disruption to agricultural activities.

‎He called on citizens to remain calm but vigilant and to report any suspicious movements to the nearest security post, assuring that the government will not rest until peace is fully restored to every corner of the state.
