Plateau State Governor-elect, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang has inaugurated a 10- member transition committee with a clear task of liaising with the Committee constituted by the current administration to ensure a smooth transition and handing over on May 29th, 2023.
The Governor-elect while inaugurating the committee on Tuesday in Jos said sub-committees would be constituted to assist the main committee to accomplish the responsibility bestowed on it.
He listed the terms of reference of the Committee to include “Jointly receive and collate handing over notes from MDAs; jointly plan activities and programmes of events; to organize a befitting transition of power and swearing-in /inauguration of the Governor-elect and Deputy Governor elect.
Others are “Arrange accommodation and transportation for Guests and VIPs, Draw up VIPs/Guest lists for the event and communicate them and Construction and decoration of a befitting pavilion at the Rwang Pam township stadium which will seeve as venue for a successful inauguration.
Furthermore, the Committee is to “Provide adequate security for the venue of the inauguration, carry out any other assignment/activity considered necessary for a smooth and successful inauguration and taking over”.

Barr. Mutfwang also performed the official dissolution of the Mutfwang-Piyo Campaign Council headed by the Director General, Chief Latep Dabang.
He thanked the campaign council for putting their best to ensure victory during the March 18 Governorship election and appreciated Plateau people for giving him their mandate without looking back. He assured that he will not disappoint them.
The Governor-elect emphasized the need for Plateau people to voluntarily resolve to strengthen the bonds of unity for the peace and progress of the State.
He reassured Plateau citizens that he will run an all-inclusive government, where everybody irrespective of ethnic and religious background would be carried along in line with his promise to deliver good governance.
The Director General of the Campaign Council, Chief Latep Dabang appreciated members of the council for working tirelessly to ensure victory for the PDP in the recent general elections.
He appreciated the Governor-elect, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang and the Party Chairman, Hon. Chris Hassan for giving him the opportunity to drive the campaign to victory and thanked former Governor Jonah David Jang for his statesmanship and fatherly roles before, during and after the elections.
The State PDP Chairman, Hon. Chris Hassan appreciated the critical role played by the entire campaign council and expressed optimism that the incoming administration will prosper Plateau people.
He said the campaign structure of Plateau State that collapsed the Presidential and Governorship election into one campaign became a model in the country for other states chapters of the party to emulate.
Hon. Hassan urged the people of Plateau State to continuously pray for the Governor-elect, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang and the Deputy Governor-elect Ngo Josephine Piyo for more wisdom and God’s guidance in implementing their clear-cut vision for the growth and development of Plateau State.
