One week, after witnessing the commissioning of the water supply network that will deliver treated, potable water directly to homes in Karu, Orozo, Jikwoyi, Kurudu, and other satellite communities along Karu-Karshi Road in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) by President Bola Tinubu, the residents of the area will, once again, leave their homes to welcome Tinubu for another project today.
Tinubu’s return today is to commission the newly constructed Karu Township roads.
Daily NewsCraft reports that the infrastructure projects, which stretch from the Karu Interchange to the Customs Clinic Junction, are being executed under the leadership of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to decongest traffic and improve suburban mobility.
Wike, during the commissioning of the water supply network last week Monday, had hinted that Tinubu would return to commission the newly constructed internal roads in Karu.
Constructed by an indigenous contractor, Abdul Val Construction Company Ltd, the project includes a link road, side clearing, a 150mm thick sub-base, and the installation of solar streetlights.
This development is part of the broader FCT satellite towns initiative.
As part of this wider push, Tinubu (represented by Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima) also commissioned the Karu Water Supply Network to significantly boost potable water access in the area.
