The Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru, has called on Muslim faithful and devotees of Prophet Muhammad to pray for peace, unity, love, and social cohesion across Nigeria as they celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.
In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Monday Uzor, Governor Nwifuru said the numerous challenges confronting the country could be addressed through prayers, supplications, and sincere devotion to Allah.
According to him, sacred occasions such as Eid-el-Kabir provide an opportunity for Nigerians to seek spiritual solutions to the nation’s pressing challenges.
“The truth is that sacred occasions, events and seasons like this offer us not only the opportunity, but rare privilege to seek spiritual solutions to the plethora of physical challenges greeting us as a nation.
“And Eid-el-Kabir is such an opportunity graciously granted to us to seek Allah’s face and intervention,” the Governor stated.
Governor Nwifuru stressed that peace, unity, and love remain essential ingredients for national development and harmonious coexistence.
As we celebrate this sacred event, I urge our Muslim brothers and sisters to pray for peace across the country, unity in pursuit of a united political front, and love for one another to ensure social cohesion,” he added.
The Governor also assured of his administration’s continued collaboration with religious bodies to strengthen interfaith dialogue and promote good governance in line with the People’s Charter of Needs agenda.
