Plateau State Government has began the reform and modernization of State’s legal framework recorded major milestone as PAC SOLICITORS CONSULTANTS formally presented the draft of the reviewed and reformed Plateau State Laws to the Plateau State Ministry of Justice in collaboration with the Plateau State Law Reform Committee.
The presentation marks a significant step towards the codification, modernization, and harmonization of the State’s laws to align with contemporary legal standards, emerging realities, and global best practices in justice administration.
Receiving the consultants on behalf of the Plateau State Government, the Honourable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Plateau State, Barr. Philemon Audu Daffi, commended the consultants and members of the Law Reform Committee for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment towards building a more responsive and efficient legal system for the State.
The Honourable Attorney-General described the presentation as a landmark achievement in the ongoing transformation of the justice sector under the administration of His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, noting that the exercise represents a deliberate effort to ensure that Plateau State laws adequately reflect present-day realities and meet the demands of modern governance and justice delivery.
He further stated that the draft laws will undergo additional scrutiny and review by relevant stakeholders, institutions, and agencies before transmission to the Plateau State House of Assembly for legislative consideration and eventual codification.
The exercise underscores the commitment of the Plateau State Government to institutional reforms, legal development, and strengthening the rule of law through progressive legislation and modern legal frameworks.
