Nigerian singer, Crown Uzama, popularly known as Shallipopi, has revealed that many of his colleagues maltreated him between 2023 and 2024 when he was trying to break into the mainstream.

In a social media post, the ‘Ex-convict’ crooner emphasized that several Nigerian artists did not give him a safe landing in the industry or even receptive.

He explained that the experience has made him to be “extra mean.”

On his X handle, the singer wrote, “2023/2024 many artist pour me spit for face…. I mean manyyyyyy, that’s why I’m extra mean, ogun go kill of una one by one as time dey go.”

Shallipopi became an internet sensation after his song ‘Elon Musk’ went viral.

He later remixed the song with Zlatan Ibile and Fireboy DML, which solidified his stardom.

In October 2023, Shallipopi revealed in an Instagram post that Zlatan gave his career “life” free of charge.
