The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Kuwait, with concurrent accreditation to the Kingdom of Bahrain, has issued an urgent security advisory to Nigerian nationals residing in both countries over what it described as “prevailing circumstances in the region.”

In a circular released on Sunday, the diplomatic mission urged Nigerians in the State of Kuwait and Bahrain to remain vigilant and strictly comply with safety directives issued by their respective host governments.

In the advisory, the Embassy called on citizens to exercise caution and avoid panic.

“In view of the prevailing circumstances in the region, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the State of Kuwait with concurrent accreditation to the Kingdom of Bahrain, wishes to advise all Nigerian nationals in both countries to remain vigilant, observe safety guidelines, advisories from the host (official) governments, and remain calm at all times,” the circular stated.

The mission stressed the need for Nigerians to stay updated through credible and official sources.

“The Embassy further wishes to encourage our nationals to monitor local news and official Kuwaiti and Bahraini Government announcements. The Embassy is closely monitoring the situation and is in close contact with the leadership of the various communities,” it added.

As part of measures to enhance coordination and rapid response, the Embassy announced the activation of a dedicated mobile and WhatsApp line for Nigerians in both countries.

“In the meantime, a dedicated Mobile/WhatsApp line has been created to ensure active communication with all,” the statement said.

Nationals were advised to reach the Embassy via email at [email protected] or call/WhatsApp +965 9923 8835 for further enquiries. The mission also encouraged citizens to join its official WhatsApp group for real-time updates and support.

The Embassy assured Nigerians that it is maintaining constant communication with leaders of Nigerian community associations in Kuwait and Bahrain to ensure coordinated responses where necessary.
