    Published on

The Federal Government has ordered the immediate shutdown of 47 Federal Unity Colleges across the country due to rising security threats.

The directive was conveyed in a circular issued on Friday, warning of “heightened security risks in several regions” and emphasising the need to safeguard students and staff.

According to the document, the decision received the approval of the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa.

The circular was signed on his behalf by Binta Abdulkadir, Director of Senior Secondary Education.

Principals of the affected institutions have been instructed to enforce the closure without delay.
