    Wife of Former Lagos NUJ Chairman, Qasim Akinreti, Is Dead

    The former Chairman, Dr. Qasim Akinreti, is bereaved. His wife of many years, Alhaja Akinreti, is dead.

    This came barely a week after the death of the wife of another prominent journalist in Nigetia, Yusuph Oloniyonu, an editor with THISDAY newspaper.

    Platforms Africa reports quoting a statement shares by Akinreti’s colleague, Abdur Rahman Balogun, that the deceased has been buried in at Masjid Mubarrak Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria Central Area, after ICPC, the NDIC, Abuja.

    The home of Akinreti, a Deputy Director with Voice of Nigeria (VoN), has been busy with sympathisers who have been coming to pay condolences.

    The statement shares by Balogun read; “Inna lilah Waina ilayhim rojiun. Akinreti loses wife.

    “This is to announce the passage of one of the wives of Dr Qasim Akinreti, a Deputy Director with Voice of Nigeria. The Janazah prayers ongoing at Masjid Mubarrak Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria Central Area, after ICPC, the NDIC, Abuja.

    “May Allah forgive her shortcomings and reward our sister with Al-janah firdaus. May Allah comfort the family, especially our dear Brother.
