MainPower Electricity Distribution Limited (MEDL), a subsidiary of Enugu Electricity Distribution Company Plc (EEDC), has announced the cancellation of the 10-day planned power outage in Enugu State.

In a new development, Head of Communications for MEDL, Emeka Ezeh, on Saturday confirmed that the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) had canceled the planned exercise.

The statement read: “The MainPower Electricity Distribution Limited (MEDL) wishes to inform her esteemed customers in parts of Enugu that the planned outage which was originally scheduled from Wednesday, October 22, 2025, to Friday, October 31, 2025 between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m, has been cancelled,” the statement reads.

“The cancellation of the exercise as communicated by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) is due to unforeseen technical constraints.

“The 33KV feeders earlier scheduled for the outage on rotational basis are: Kingsway Lines 1 & 2, Emene Industrial Lines 1 & 2, Thinkers Corner, Trans-Ekulu, Ugwuogo, and Ituku Ozalla.”

The company therefore assured customers that a new maintenance schedule would be shared with the public once confirmed.

MEDL apologized for any inconvenience caused by the change and expressed appreciation to its customers for their patience and understanding.
