The National Universities Commission (NUC) has released a list of worst universities in Nigeria in its latest rankings.

Just as there are best universities in Nigeria, so are worst private and public universities and colleges.

In the light of this, the worst university doesn’t necessarily mean they have the worst teaching methods or they have the worst lecturers but rather do not meet up with the required qualities as were outlined by the NUC

According to the NUC, this ranking was made from analysis of twelve indicators. From the list, the worst University in Nigeria is the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University in Bauchi State

The importance of this is to guide an informed decision-making process as you register for your JAMB examination.

There is no point in attending a university that the commissioning body (NUC) has listed out to be among the worst universities especially where there are options of the best, highly-ranked universities to choose from.

Below is the list of top 5 worst universities in Nigeria according to NUC 2021 Ranking.

    1. Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University – 0.59 points
    2. Igbinedion University – 4.05 points
    3. Renaissance University – 8.92 points
    4. Legacy University – 12.11 points
    5. Al-Qalam University – 13.62 points
