The Kwara state Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr. Alabi Afees Abolore, has lauded the management and staff of the Ministry for their commitment and dedication to duty, noting that this had positively impacted the growth and development of the Ministry in the year 2022.

Dr. Abolore, who was speaking at the new year meeting of the Ministry, urged the staff not to be complacent in the new year, but to continue to remain steadfast and committed to their jobs in order to record greater successes for the Ministry and government in year 2023 and beyond.

He said: “I cherish your commitment and dedication to duty. All staff have demonstrated commitment, passion and hard work at ensuring the growth and development of this Ministry in recent time which makes you an amazing team to work with.

“I implore you not to be complacent, but to continue to sow seeds of dedication, hard work, and commitment, as I assure you that the reward will yield fruits of happiness and successes in the new year and beyond.”

The Commissioner also enjoined them to take their health issues and general well-being with utmost priority and seriousness by engaging in routine health checks to avoid system breakdown.

“Your families are a significant part of you, ensure you cultivate a robust relationship and companionship with them”, the Commissioner added.

Earlier, the Director, Continuing Education, Elder Joseph Afolayan, on behalf of the management and staff, had expressed appreciation to the Commissioner for his words of wisdom, promising that they would adhere strictly to his admonition for the new year.

The Acting Director, Personnel, Finance and Supply, Mrs. Florence Balogun, thanked the Commissioner for his exemplary leadership style in ensuring harmony and synergy between the Directorates of the Ministry and Tertiary Institutions in the State.

Highlights of the meeting included a prayer session for the repose of the late Permanent Secretary, Hajia Sidikat Alaya and Director, Continuing Education, Alhaji Moshood Adebayo Suleiman, who both passed on in 2022. The prayer session was also observed in commemoration of the Ministry’s expectations in the year 2023.
