The Chief Judge of Ondo State, Justice Olusegun Odusola, has appealed to the leadership of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) in the state to embrace dialogue and constructive engagement to resolve the ongoing industrial action.

According to a statement by the Chief Registrar of the Ondo State High Court, Ayodeji Akinsanya, the CJ believes dialogue with the government offers the best route to an amicable and timely resolution of the crisis.

He urged the Union to consider the broader implications of the strike on justice delivery and public interest.

Justice Odusola also called on members of the public for patience and understanding during this challenging period and expressed hope that normalcy would soon return to the courts.

He reiterated the judiciary’s critical role in upholding the rule of law, maintaining order, and safeguarding the peace and stability of the state.

The CJ emphasised that the judiciary must be allowed to carry out its constitutional responsibilities without obstruction.

While JUSUN reaffirmed its demand for the full implementation of the 2015 Memorandum of Understanding, Justice Odusola urged the union to reflect on the wider impact of the strike.

He appealed to all stakeholders to act in good faith, revealing that a meeting had been held between the Chief Judge and officials of JUSUN, Ondo State branch, on 19 June 2025.
