Napoli and Manchester United are reportedly engaged in advanced discussions regarding the potential transfer of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.
The Italian club is rumored to be considering a reduced offer for Victor Osimhen’s release clause, which could benefit Manchester United.

According to Il Mattino, Napoli director Giovanni Manna has traveled in London to negotiate with United officials about the 26year-old striker.

Napoli may strategically lower Victor Osimhen’s transfer fee for Manchester United in an effort to prevent Juventus from acquiring the striker, thereby eliminating a major Serie A rival from the race.

Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray, is widely expected to leave Napoli permanently this summer following failed moves to both Chelsea and Saudi clubs. Although his release clause is set at €75 million, Napoli is reportedly open to negotiating a lower price with Premier League clubs to avoid bolstering domestic competitors, particularly Juventus.

According to Il Mattino, the situation with Juventus remains complicated despite ongoing contact between the club and Osimhen’s camp. While the Nigerian forward is reportedly open to joining the Turin-based side, existing tensions between the two Italian clubs could hinder any potential deal.

Manchester United, meanwhile, are actively pursuing attacking reinforcements after managing just 37 goals in 31 Premier League matches this season—one of the lowest tallies in the league. The Red Devils have identified Osimhen as their top target, and the player is said to be open to a move to Old Trafford, even amid the club’s current instability and doubts over European qualification.

While Chelsea have also shown interest during a recent visit from Napoli sporting director Mauro Meluso, they are believed to be prioritizing a move for Ipswich Town forward Liam Delap, who manager Enzo Maresca sees as a better fit for their tactical setup.

Arsenal have also submitted a formal offer for Osimhen, and clubs such as Liverpool, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain are monitoring the striker’s situation closely.

A previous transfer involving Scott McTominay has reportedly strengthened the relationship between Napoli and Manchester United, which could help smooth negotiations.

Osimhen has been in excellent form on loan at Galatasaray, netting 28 goals in 32 appearances, and is currently focused on helping the Turkish side win both the Super Lig and Turkish Cup before making a decision on his next move.
