Ahead of the general elections in 2027, Senate President Godswill Akpabio claims that Kano State is still a stronghold for the All Progressives Congress, or APC.
According to Akpabio, his trust is predicated on the strategic influence of Senator Basheer Lado, Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters; APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje; and Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin.
This was said by the Senate President when he visited Lado in his National Assembly office.
He called his performance “unprecedented” and praised him for ensuring smooth and private communication between the Senate and the Executive.
“With the Deputy Senate President, the National Chairman of APC, and your strategic influence, Kano is already secured for the APC ahead of 2027,” Akpabio remarked.
“Since Senator Lado took office, all private correspondence between the Senate and the Presidency has been kept secret,” hee stated.
Akpabio emphasized the value of confidentiality in governance once more, cautioning that disclosures could have a detrimental effect on decision-making and national security.
He also acknowledged Lado’s role in enhancing collaboration between the Executive and the Legislature, ensuring smoother communication and coordination.
“You have done an excellent job over the past eight months. You have strengthened the synergy between the Executive and the Legislature, making governance more effective,” he added.
