US birthright citizenship will be terminated, Trump promises

    Published on

Donald Trump, the incoming president, has pledged to abolish birthright citizenship, which, according to the 14th Amendment, currently confers citizenship to everyone born in the United States.

Trump reiterated his pledge to deport undocumented immigrants, even those who have US-citizen family members, in his first television interview since winning the election in November, when he appeared on NBC.

We will need to have it modified. We must put an end to it, even if it means returning to the people,” he said.

Additionally, he stated that he was willing to collaborate with Democrats in order to protect “Dreamers,” or young illegal immigrants who were taken to the United States as minors.

Trump also stated that when he assumes office next month, he will work to pardon individuals convicted in connection with the Capitol riot in 2021.

He denounced as “filthy” and “disgusting” the conditions that individuals imprisoned for their involvement had to endure.

He declared, “I’ll be acting very quickly, first day; these people are living in hell.”
