Former President Muhammadu Buhari and ex-Senate President Bukola Saraki have both hailed Pastor Tunde Bakare as a “living legend” on his 70th birthday, marking his significant contributions to Nigeria’s democracy and social justice.
Buhari, in his message, described Bakare, his former running mate in the 2011 presidential race, as a national asset. “Dr. Bakare is a man of intellect, integrity, and courage. His transition from a successful law practice to a committed pastor reflects his dedication to nation-building and democratic values. I pray he enjoys long life and sees his vision of a just Nigeria realized,” Buhari said.
Saraki, meanwhile, expressed admiration for Bakare’s leadership, vision, and faith. He described the pastor as an unrelenting advocate for justice and positive change, not only in Nigeria but also globally. “Happy 70th Birthday to Pastor Bakare. May the Almighty continue to bless him with strength, grace, and longevity as he continues his impactful work,” Saraki wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Both leaders praised Bakare’s unwavering dedication to the betterment of society through his work at Citadel Global Community Church (CGCC) and his advocacy for justice and integrity.
