PDP’s “Necessary Resetting” Aims to Build Strength for 2027 Elections, Not Division, Says Party Insider

    Published on

A People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Gbe Benjamin Orduen, clarified that recent changes within the party are part of a strategic “necessary resetting” rather than internal discord, as some speculate. Speaking in Abuja, Orduen emphasized that the PDP’s current restructuring efforts are aimed at reinforcing unity and establishing a stronger foundation to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.

Orduen described the process as a “cleansing and reorganization” meant to filter out divisive elements and refocus the party’s direction. “What may look like internal divisions is actually a carefully considered transformation that will result in a more resilient PDP,” he explained, urging the public to see it as a positive shift.

He affirmed that these adjustments are part of the PDP’s vision to become a “formidable force” by 2027, aligning members with the party’s long-term goals. Orduen added that the changes reflect a commitment to integrity, accountability, and progress, creating a party focused on addressing Nigeria’s pressing needs.

Orduen concluded, “This is not a crisis but a strategic adjustment, and we are building a PDP that can withstand challenges and better serve Nigerians.”
