Nigerian superstar Burna Boy continues to make history in the global music industry, breaking records and elevating the commercial success of African music on the international stage.

In a remarkable achievement, Burna Boy has secured the title of the African artist with the highest-grossing venue in the United States. According to Touring Data on X, Burna Boy’s 2024 concert at the TD Garden Arena in Boston generated a staggering $1.593 million in revenue, surpassing his previous record set at Madison Square Garden in 2022.

During this historic concert, Burna Boy sold out the 19,000-capacity TD Arena Garden, marking a significant milestone in his ‘I Told Them’ Tour. The tour has already amassed an impressive total revenue of $11,659,531 from 11 reported shows out of 22 scheduled stops.

This achievement underscores Burna Boy’s status as a leading African artist on the global stage. Since making his international breakthrough in 2018 with the hit single ‘YE’, Burna Boy has consistently achieved unprecedented success for an African artist.

Renowned as the African Giant, Burna Boy holds the distinction of being the only Nigerian artist with two Diamond-certified songs in France, namely ‘On The Low’ and ‘Last Last’. His Grammy-nominated fourth album, ‘African Giant’, also made history as the first Nigerian album to receive a platinum plaque in France.

Furthermore, Burna Boy boasts the highest number of Grammy nominations for a Nigerian artist, totaling 10. He further solidified his place in music history in February 2024 by becoming the first African artist to perform at the main ceremony of the 66th Grammys.
