Major General Mayirenso Lander David Saraso, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division Nigerian Army and Commander of Operation WHIRL PUNCH, on Thursday embarked on his maiden official visits to the Director General (DG) Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) and the State Director of Security (SDS) Kaduna. The purpose of these visits was to introduce himself as the 43rd GOC of 1 Division and to seek their support and cooperation in achieving the Division’s mandate.
At DICON Headquarters, Major General Saraso expressed his intentions to the DG, emphasizing the importance of a collaborative working relationship between 1 Division and DICON. He acknowledged DICON as a close associate of the Division and assured the DG of his continuous support and collaboration to create a peaceful environment for socio-economic activities to thrive.
In response, the DG DICON, Maj Gen AE Edet, congratulated Major General Saraso on his appointment and welcomed him to Kaduna. He commended 1 Division for its unwavering support and requested for further cooperation and collaboration between the two organizations.
Continuing his mission, Major General Saraso and his team visited the office of the State Director of Security, SDS Abdul A. Enenche. Despite the short notice, the GOC expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and acknowledged the pivotal role played by the State Director of Security in the Division’s successes. He sought continuous cooperation, support, and synergy between 1 Division and the DSS.
The SDS, Abdul A. Enenche, reciprocated the GOC’s visit by expressing his appreciation for the GOC’s support and congratulating him on his appointment. He pledged the DSS’s continuous support to the Division and assured timely and credible intelligence sharing.
Both visits were marked by the exchange of souvenirs and the capture of group photographs, symbolizing the commitment to a fruitful partnership between 1 Division, DICON, and the DSS.
Major General Saraso’s proactive engagement with key stakeholders highlights his determination to foster collaboration and cooperation in achieving the Division’s objectives. The support and synergy between these organizations are crucial for maintaining peace and enabling social and economic development in the region.
