In yet another tragic incident, bandits have inflicted violence on Hayan Habuja village in Kakangi ward, Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State. At least three people have been reported dead, with eight others abducted in the aftermath of the attack.

This assault occurred just five days following a similar brutal attack that resulted in the deaths of 23 individuals in Anguwan Danko community near Dogon Dawa district within the same local government area.

According to Abdurrashid Abarshi, the Secretary-General of Birnin-Gwari Emirate Progressive Union (BEPU), the bandits struck Hayan Habuja village around 3 PM on Tuesday. Abarshi revealed that the assailants had camped nearby the previous night, meticulously planning their offensive.

Tragically, two individuals lost their lives on the spot, while four more were forcibly taken by the bandits. As the bandits departed from Hayan Habuja, they encountered a villager fetching firewood whom they killed, and subsequently kidnapped four additional individuals.

As the security situation in the area deteriorates, the Birnin-Gwari progressives union issued a statement urging authorities to intensify efforts and swiftly implement measures to address the ongoing security challenges. The union emphasized the profound fear and anxiety experienced by the residents of Birnin-Gwari, underscoring the urgent need for enhanced security measures to restore peace and stability to the region.
