Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo has approved the immediate removal of Hassan Atawodi as the Transition Chairman of Ofu Local Government Area.
Ofu local government is in Kogi East Senatorial district.
Our correspondent learnt that his removal followed hi alleged involvement in the diversion of the state government palliatives currently being shared to the citizens across the 21 local government areas of the state.
Recall that Ododo had warned against diversion of the palliatives while speaking at the flag off of the distribution last week.
He specifically asked all state government appointees to stay clear of the palliatives meant for the masses to cusheon the effects of the ongoing economic hardships in the country.
In the same vein, Governor Ododo approved the appointment of Musa Muhammed Lawal as the Transition Chairman of Ofu Local Government Area with immediate effect.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Mrs Folashade Ayoade on Monday in Lokoja.
The statement however directed Hassan Atawodi to submit all Government property in his possession to the new Transition Chairman.
The statement also, directed Hassan Atawodi to handover all the affairs of the Council and submit handing-over note to the new Transition Chairman immediately.
The removal was in line with Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s zero tolerance to any form of corruption in his administration.
