Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President, met with a delegation from the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), led by its president, Lucky Emonefe, to affirm that no student would be excluded from the Students’ Loan Funds policy.
During the meeting, Gbajabiamila emphasized that the scheme’s primary objective is to ensure that every student, regardless of their circumstances, has access to quality education. He reiterated President Tinubu’s commitment to the successful implementation of the scheme, with plans for its launch in the coming weeks.
Gbajabiamila called for the support of all Nigerians to ensure that every deserving student in need of financial assistance receives it through the loan scheme. He acknowledged potential opposition to the policy but stressed its importance in securing educational opportunities for Nigerian students.
Addressing concerns about possible industrial action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Gbajabiamila assured the students that the government is actively engaged in resolving issues with the union to prevent disruptions to academic activities. He affirmed the government’s dedication to addressing the concerns raised by ASUU.
