Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has taken decisive actions by suspending the governing council of Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic (IMAP) Lafia and mandating the Rector, Dr. Justina Anjide-Kotso, to proceed on compulsory leave with immediate effect.

The directive, issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Muhammad Ubandoma-Aliyu, underscores the need for an unhindered investigation into the findings of the visitation panel, as outlined in the white paper committee’s report received on February 2nd.

Governor Sule’s decision aims to ensure a thorough investigation free from any influence by the existing leadership. This move follows the recent surprising dissolution of the management of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU) by the Governor, despite his previous commendation of Dr. Justina Anjide-Kotso’s efforts in elevating the university’s academic standards.

Governor Sule had previously praised her for transforming the institution, acknowledging the accreditation of four technical courses and the overall improvement of IMAP Lafia under her tenure. Despite past accolades, the recent actions signal a commitment to accountability and thorough scrutiny of governance in educational institutions within the state.
