A prospective member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and a bus driver, who were abducted in Zamfara State while en route to the NYSC Orientation Camp in Sokoto State last year, have been freed.
The NYSC, as announced by its Director of Press and Public Relations, Eddy Megwa, revealed that the release was made possible through a collaborative effort with the military.
Megwa stated that with their freedom, the total number of Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) released has now reached five. Efforts are underway to secure the release of the remaining three individuals, one female and two males, who are still held captive.
Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, the Director-General of the NYSC, expressed gratitude to the security agencies for their relentless dedication, which led to the successful release of the victims.
